Rocking Out!

So the band has hit the road for a series of South Texas shows. Well not really. We do have a bunch of shows ahead of us spread out over the next month. Tuesday we played the Austin famous Emo's. A great turn out by all our friends and family and thank you so much to those who came out in the Austin cold on a Tuesday night.

Thanksgiving in Avon

Mindy and I made to trek up to the Vee farm for Thanksgiving this year. Leaving the 82F and sunny Austin, it was 7F when we got off the plane in Minneapolis. Waiting for Cindy to arrive, we set up shop in a booth with some nachos and beer at 10am. "Happy Thanksgiving!!!" Arrived at in Avon to find some fresh snow and a fire burning. Spent the weekend eating, drinking, 4 wheeling, and generally having a kick-ass time. Looking at the weather today in Avon its snowing with a high of 13F and a low of 0F. Maybe there is something to these Texas "winters".

Fresh Veggies

Its November 24th and I just pulled this bounty out of the garden. Year 'round gardening here in Texas. There are a bunch of small bell peppers and egg plants still coming in and I'm hoping some forecasted cold temps (its 84F today) don't kill everything off while we're in Avon, MN this weekend.

Oh.. and high temp in Avon on Thursday, 19F! Awesome! I can't wait for some cold and snow. Mindy is not thrilled but did find her long johns.

Turtle Time

So I had an escapee from my pond when a turtle that I had raised for 8 months disappeared. So i've taken to going down to the local retention pond to hunt for turtles. I snagged a real small one and relocated him to the pond. I've caught and released two others, one of which was full of eggs and I saw her digging a hole to lay them. Seen a couple of BIG snakes down there too, but they are more scared of me than me of them.

Still looking for another small turtle for the pond. The hunt continues....

Another Halloween

we had two trick or treaters yet bought three bags of candy.

at least we had the best pumpkin on the street.
